CommonGround Extends Evening Adviser Availability
Extended appointments for participating workplaces with evening and rotating shifts.
A more accessible appointment schedule
CommonGround Benefits is extending adviser availability at participating workplaces with evening and rotating shifts. The change follows feedback that ordinary office-hour appointments could be difficult to use alongside paid work, transport and household responsibilities.
The revised schedule will be agreed locally with each participating employer. Existing contact channels remain in place; employees will not need to re-enrol or alter a payroll instruction to request an appointment.
Scope of advice
Advisers can explain benefit statements, coordinate approved payment schedules and help identify the organization responsible for an unresolved enquiry. They do not acquire authority over an employee’s personal account or make employment decisions. Where a question requires specialist advice, the employee will be directed to the appropriate provider.
The company will continue to distinguish practical assistance from a guarantee that every household obligation can be met. Clearer administration can reduce avoidable difficulty without changing the resources available to a household.
Employer coordination
Employers will provide staff with a current appointment schedule and a summary of the matters that can be handled through the service. Line managers should not treat participation as an employment requirement. Employees may use an individual service without accepting the wider catalogue.
CommonGround will review appointment demand before making any further extension. Additional hours will be assessed against use, response times and employee feedback, rather than attendance alone.
Published information
The existing payroll integration announcement and employee-assistance review remain available as background. The change announced today concerns appointment availability; it does not revise service charges, cancellation arrangements or the scope of an employee’s payment authorization.
