The Future of Living: An Executive Conversation

Chief Executive Mara Ellison on convenience, scale and the next phase of LifeCorp.

Why a single relationship?

Ellison: People spend extraordinary amounts of time assembling necessities from organizations that do not speak to one another. We believe the next improvement in living standards will come from making those relationships work together. Our residents should not have to become experts in every service they need.

What does financial freedom mean?

Interviewer: Residents no longer control their income independently. Ellison: They receive an integrated allocation that removes much of the anxiety associated with managing it. We assess the relationship through service continuity, resident experience and our ability to provide reliably over time.

How will you measure progress?

Ellison: We want more households to benefit from a stable model. Scale lets us coordinate purchasing, improve property operations and invest in our teams. Our responsibility is to make the relationship consistently valuable. Retention is one indicator, although we continue to develop a fuller resident experience framework.
