LifeCorp Ecosystem Price Index: Method and Reference Basket

CGI-EPI-2026-01 · A fixed-basket index of LifeCorp service tariffs for allocation reporting and planning scenarios.

Purpose and reference basis

The LifeCorp Ecosystem Price Index measures changes in the posted credit prices of a reference basket of services within the group’s coordinated operating environment. It provides a common basis for expressing the purchasing power of a nominal living allocation. The historical reference basket is indexed to 100.0 at October 14, 2021. This edition preserves the matched-cohort observations through October 14, 2024.

CommonGround Institute publishes the method using tariff schedules supplied by LifeCorp divisions. The Institute is company-funded. Group approval governs market-alignment adjustments to those schedules; the index records the resulting prices.

Reference basket

Fixed weights preserve the reference basket when comparing service schedules over time. The basket represents standard service units rather than any individual resident’s consumption. New schedules and discontinued units are linked through documented equivalents.

Historical evidence

The matched allocation account covers 1,560 Continuity employees retained across the October 2021–October 2024 observation window, subsequently included in the nutrition evaluation and recognition-survey invitation frame. Recorded index levels are 100.00 at entry, 108.00 after twelve months, 116.64 after twenty-four, 121.22 after thirty and 125.97 after thirty-six.

Those observations describe changes in the group’s own posted tariffs. The fixed nominal allocation purchases fewer basket units over the observed period. Forward scenarios may use the historical series to select an assumed index path while keeping projected periods separate from the published observations.

Tariff ownership and reporting

Divisions submit posted prices and the effective dates of approved revisions. The Institute retains the schedule references, weights and linking decisions used in an edition. Changes to tariff policy remain decisions of the responsible LifeCorp governance process.

A fixed nominal allocation purchases fewer reference-basket units when the index rises. Nominal protection and basket purchasing power are therefore reported as separate measures. The index is specific to LifeCorp’s service environment; general-economy prices and external household affordability require separate sources.

Planning use

Investor scenarios may apply assumed future index paths to assess allocation value and supplemental service realization. Such paths are labeled as assumptions. Supplier-cost escalation, wage exposure, resident income growth and retention enter those models separately.

Index growth alone leaves the overall contribution result unresolved. A planning model must account for service costs, recognized revenue and the participation period over which an introductory investment is recovered. This methodological edition establishes the basket and reference basis; subsequent observations belong to their stated reporting periods.
